While your planning your Halloween fun this season, let Haunters Digest recommend some haunted attractions you must see this season. While it’s impossible to say who is the best haunted attraction, we have comprised this list based on those haunts we feel will provide a great haunting experience and fun environment for all those that visit them. Inside our list, you will also find a combination of both new and established attractions. Based on what information we have seen haunt owners provide about their haunts and based on the reaction of the haunt communities excitement, we have assembled this list of thirteen must see attractions for the 2010 season. Therefore, we are proud to present “HauntersDigest.com Must See Haunted Attractions For 2010″! We highly recommend that you attend all of these haunts this season and please remember to have a safe and fun Halloween season!

HauntersDigest.com Must See Haunted Attractions For 2010

1. Folklore Haunted House (Dallas, GA)*
Folklore Haunted House, the first professional haunted attraction in Paulding County, Georgia, features 15,000 square feet of film quality sets combined with state of the art animatronics, special effects and live actors to produce a truly terrifying and unforgettable haunted attraction experience.  During your journey you will explore the mausoleum and New Orleans style above ground cemetery; try to escape from the underground catacombs and finally enter Nightshade Manor and perhaps be unlucky enough to come face to face with the Tooth Fairy herself!  If you do happen to meet her, what ever you do, don’t smile!  This is no fairy tale!

2. Disturbia Haunted Attraction (Huntsville, AL)*
Disturbia. Is a mental disturbance, an insanity so powerful that it controls and dominates ones mind. Disturbia has a dark meaning to it. It’s much more than being scary or creepy. Disturbia is about mind control, fear, phobias a deep darkness so unrealistic that your mind goes totally insane. You lose all control of reality. Enter Disturbia where there are worse things than death!

3. The ScareHouse (Pittsburgh, PA)
The ScareHouse in Pittsburgh, PA is ranked as one of “America’s Scariest Halloween Attractions” by Travel Channel. It was also named as one of America’s “must see” haunted houses by Fangoria and Haunted Attraction magazines. The ScareHouse offers three haunts for just one price: Rampage, Delirium 3-D, and new for 2010: The Forsaken. “Pittsburgh’s Ultimate Haunted House” is located just minutes from downtown and open on select dates from September 24th through Halloween.

4. Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights (Orlando, FL)
Halloween Horror Nights is the nation’s premier annual Halloween event, now in its 20th year.  The event features all new horrifying haunted houses, intense scare zones and an all-new “Bill & Ted’s Excellent Halloween Adventure” containing parodies from TV, movies, music and more.

5. The 13th Floor San Antonio (San Antonio, TX)*
Come with us as we attempt to explain the legend of the 13th floor and introduce you to San Antonio’s most horrifying haunted experience, the 13th Floor Haunted House in San Antonio, TX.  As you enter this haunted attraction and step into the elevator to your final destination, we guarantee your journey through the frightful 13th Floor will leave you wondering why you ever went in.  The 13th Floor is one of the scariest haunted houses in San Antonio.

6. Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride / Pennurst Asylum (Glen Mills, PA)
New for 2010 are updated sets on our hayride including a huge 75’ long Medieval torture chamber, a nasty junk yard and lots of new monsters. The Cornfield haunted trail boasts additional scenes and new animatronics. The Bates Motel has been made over with incredible detail and an all new rotten green house, filled with vines, snakes and monsters.

7. Oblivion Haunted House (Appleton, Wisconsin)*
Oblivion Haunted house is a 20,000 square foot indoor haunt located in Menasha, WI. 6 separate themes adorn the halls of Oblivion ranging from a gruesome basement to a heart pounding Asylum. Oblivion holds Hollywood style sets, lighting, makeup and special effects. Oblivion Haunted House is completely Non for Profit and gives back to many local charities and non profit groups/organizations.

8. Dead Acres / Haunted Hoochie (Pataskala, OH)
Dead Acres Haunted Hoochie is the worlds MOST EXTREME Haunted Attraction. It is a Haunted House and Haunt Forest in Patatskala, Ohio that is the Darkest Show on Earth.

9. Haunted Overload (Lee, NH)
No New England autumn would be complete without the thrills and chills of Halloween, and this year DeMeritt Hill Farm is joining forces with the award-winning Haunted Overload. Consistently rated one of the top haunted attractions in the United States, Haunted Overload blends its astounding handmade sets, gigantic monsters and spellbinding costumes with spectacular sound and lighting to create a twisted, terrifying Halloween experience like no other. The vibrant, organic design of Haunted Overload will be more frightening than ever as it moves into 5 acres of the spookiest woods that the farm has to offer. This partnership promises to be an exciting blend of family fun and nighttime terrors, and Haunted Overload is looking forward to making this new location the most thrilling ever! DeMeritt Hill Farm is located on Route 155 in Lee. NH.

10. House of Shock (New Orleans)
The House of Shock is one of the most infamous Haunted Attractions in the world! Located right outside of New Orleans, The House of Shock has enjoyed national and international exposure through such publications as Rolling Stone Magazine, Maxim and Playboy. The House of Shock has graced the covers of many industry magazines and music publications alike and have been featured on VH-1′s Rock Show and Fuse-TV’s Uranium. The House of Shock was recently awarded #71 on VH-1′s “100 Most Metal Moments”!

11. Netherworld (Atlanta, GA)
NETHERWORLD Haunted House is a walk-through dark attraction filled with terrifying live actors, amazing special effects, and incredible monsters. Widely considered one of the best Haunted Houses in the nation, this intense, cutting edge, multi-story, multi-attraction haunted event is full of amazing detail and thrilling scares!

12. Spookywoods (High Point, NC)

Spookywoods haunted house in North Carolina is more than just a haunted house; It’s the scariest haunted house in NC. It’s an entire Halloween attraction park by night and hours of family bonding during the day at Maize  Adventure and Kersey Valley Zipline.  Spookywoods haunted house and Halloween attraction also features OVER 130 LIVE monsters, ghouls; goblins, zombies, sophisticated animations, high tech special effects, and much more.

13. Dent School House (Cincinnati, OH)
Located in Cincinnati Ohio, The Dent Schoolhouse truly terrifies the little school kid in everyone. Staffed by one creepy janitor, Dent scares the hell out of their guest with great set designing, settings, lighting, and real thought and care into their attraction. If your in the Cincinnati area, you need to visit this haunt and “find out the truth about the over 35 murders in a school that will give you one killer education!”
